Arrowhead Farm's Cadet Program is for all young adults 12-16 years old. This program is designed to give our Cadet campers more one-on-one time with our knowledgeable staff in order to rapidly improve their horsemanship and riding skills. The Cadets will have more hands-on horse time in which they will learn daily care and all needs of horses, including: horsemanship, showmanship, equine nutrition, equine anatomy, and all things pertaining to the life of the horse and rider. For campers who are new to the wonderful world of horses, their introduction will be more in-depth, but they will be exposed to the entire program.
The cadets will have their own horse and will be responsible for that horse's well-being for the duration of the week session. Cadet campers will be given reading assignments to further enrich their knowledge. There will also be opportunities to show on Arrowhead horses at the MVHC local horse shows.
The focus of this program is to challenge our older campers as they grow in their knowledge of horses while having a magical time at Arrowhead's legendary camp.
This program begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.
